With the new home cinema range Projection Design filter out all but the very best lenses they produce for inclusion in to ensure they deliver the highest quality picture available. Each lens is thoroughly tested for any inaccuracies and those that do not make the grade are not included in the cinema projectors. With this attention to detail and 100% quality assurance the Spectra delivers images of amazing clarity.
The new Projection Design Spectra is full High Definition projector with a 1080p resolution, 10-bit video processing, A contrast ratio of over 5000:1 and HDMI 1.3a inputs. Yet, it is only the size of an A4 sheet of paper, making it the smallest Full HD projector on the market to date. Single chip technology ensures that there is no registration or convergence errors, the image is always displayed pixel perfect.
With 2x HDMI inputs as well as a whole host of other inputs and a lens offset of approx 125%, as well as its very small size, the Spectra is perfect for any Home Cinema.
The Spectra takes full advantage of Projection Designs exclusive RealColor colour management suite. Through uniquely characterizing and calibrating each projector as it leaves the production line, they ensure every single one can reproduce true D65 video calibration when switched on. RealColor has been developed to perfectly track gray scale throughout the dynamic range, and to provide perfect video colour reproduction.
Our comments: Projection Design has worked wonders to produce this stunning new projector. The Spectra is a single chip full HD DLP projector and delivers some of the best images we have ever seen at this price point. Not content with producing a deep involving image the Spectra is housed in the smallest casing of any 1080p projector today making it far more discrete than the majority of home cinema projectors.
It is not all about the casing though and the Projection Design really delivers with all types of video image. With the latest round of projectors standard definition content is displayed very accurately but where the premium units such as the Spectra come in to their own is with high definition material. Blu-ray or broadcast HD is produced with a far greater insight and clarity than before and are displayed with deep solid black levels and accurate colour balance. The Spectra can bring out the detail in the darkest scenes and still maintain realistic flesh tones and perfect motion.
The projection design Spectra will battle it out with the JVC-HD100 for the best projector at this price point.
