Description: After three years of exhaustive testing and analysis of traditional as well as experimental approaches to loudspeaker design, KEF perfected a combination of technologies that generated an extraordinarily pure sound and forged the Concept Blade speaker. Its exceptional acoustic integrity derived from the fact that every element of the system had been conceived to perform as a single coherent unit with all parts working in flawless harmony, with the highest quality components and advanced materials used to perfect the design.
Another two years of painstaking refinement, and in time to mark 50 years of KEF innovation, KEF have now announced a Blade edition that serious audiophiles can own. There have been some tweaks to the original concept but the story remains the same. The Blades are available to order now with stock arriving in early August 2011
Finishes/Options:
Standard colours; Gloss Black, or White
Custom colours; Garnet, Sapphire, Grigio, Racing red, Racing blue, Pale gold, Orange sorbet, Graphite, Stardust, Lemon sorbet, Lime sorbet or Snow white
Comments: The KEF blade is something rather special. A huge controlled sound with superb imaging and focus.I heard these at the Munich High End Show 2010 in a very large room full of equipment and people and really was impressed. The KEF Blade's still produced a full sound that didnt break up despite the power used to produce a decent volume in a large space and crucially the sound remained balanced and engaging. So often when systems are displayed like this the volume overpowers the room and all you hear is loudness. With the Blades it was music all the way. We now have a set of Blades in store in the custom Graphite finish as well as a custom white pair ( Bianco Isis, a Lamborghini colour) at Lamborghini Edinburgh. The sound doesnt fail to impress everyone who has heard them. With the difficult constraints of the car showroom and modest electronics the Blades deliver time and time again. In store our Graphite pair perform amazingly well in the open space of the shop floor and in the smaller space of our demonstration room they come on song. With a price of £20000 the Blades not for everyone but even at this price the sound the produce makes them a high end bargain.
