The Kaleidescape 1U Server provides ultra-reliable storage for your favorite movies and music. Like all Kaleidescape Servers, it's able to continue running even after a drive failure – while it continues to safely store your valuable entertainment content.

As your collection grows, you can add additional Kaleidescape Disk Cartridges to increase storage capacity for your movies and music. A single 1U Server can store up to 450 DVDs or 5,000 CDs. Multiple Servers can be clustered in a single System to store thousands of movies and albums as a single collection

Details

The Kaleidescape 1U Server provides redundant storage for your collection using a proprietary disk storage technology called RAID-K. If a drive fails, the Kaleidescape System continues to operate, and no content is lost. The failed drive is replaced without turning off the Server or disrupting playbacks that are in progress. The Kaleidescape 1U Server delivers movies and music, over a standard residential network, simultaneously to Kaleidescape Movie Players and Music Players throughout the home. Once movies and music are stored on your Kaleidescape 1U Server, they can be enjoyed instantly in any Player-equipped room.
