Description: The PTAT5000E is Panasonics first Full HD 3D home theatre projector with 1080p resolution. It has been redesigned from the ground up to achieve higher basic 2D performance and unique 3D features delivering the 3D quality demanded by Hollywood, and an affordable home viewing experience for you.

The Tech; The PT-AT5000E ( note ptaT5000e rather than ptaE5000e) is the first 3D projector to use transparent LCD panels driven at 480Hz which combined with Panasonic’s original Overdrive Technology achieves a significantly low crosstalk. The newly developed optical engine produces 300,000:1 contrast ratio and 2,000 lumens of brightness, enabling the PT-AT5000E to offer an amazing 2D and 3D viewing experience.

The 3D Part; The projector comes equipped with a built-in 3D IR transmitter that lets you enjoy large-screen 3D images with the same optional eyewear (Sold separately. TY-EW3D10E, TY-EW3D2LE, TY-EW3D2ME, TY-EW3D2SE) that is used for the Panasonic VIERA 3DTV, convenient for those looking to enjoy 3D in both their TV and projector. An optional IR transmitter (ET-TRM110) is also available for extended transmission distance.

Comments: First impressions of the new PTAT5000 are exceptionally strong. All aspects of the picture quality have been greatly improved over the outgoing PTAE4000 and now with the added bonus of 3D the PT-AT5000e is a class leader. Fighting it our with the Sony VLP-HW30 to be the best projector at the price point Panasonic have delivered a superb contender. We have our PTAT5000 ISF calibrated and the results are improved again from the out of the box settings.

Panasonic have an excellent history with this model from their range. The PT-AE4000 that the new 3D PTAT5000 replaces offers superb performance for the money, in particular the projector delivered stunning motion handling. With the PTAE3000, AE2000 and AE1000 all leading their class at the time we fully expect the new PTAT5000 to capture our attention. As in previous years the PTAE5000 has serious competition from Sony and the latest VPL-HW30 will battle it out for the top spot. In our eyes it is 2-1 to the Panasonic camp with the HW20 beating the AE4000 this year but Panasonic holding the best projector under £2500 the years before. The Panasonic PT-AT5000E Full HD 3D home theatre projector is now available for demonstration in our dedicated cinema room.
