Despite the on paper figures the Anthem delivers great amounts of power and control and happily ran our full PMC speaker set up. As we have seen with the Statement D2V processor the room correction ( ARC) employed is a very powerful tool and can lift the performance of every system. The MRX-700 is easy to use and highly capable with music as well as movies.

Comments: Test after test and demonstration after demonstration the Anthem MRX700 proves it is the pick of the amplifiers at this price point. Correctly set up the competion from the Pioneer SC-LX85, Yamaha RX-A3010 and Onkyo TX-NR3009 cannot match the allround versatilty of the Anthem. The other units may outlclass the MRX-700 on features but with a movie soundtrack none can keep up. Switch to stereo and the Pioneer gets very close with carefully matched speakers. Connect the Anthem to any set of speakers for great results.
