Comments: What a set of speakers! No photographs can really capture the quality of the Muon cabinet design let alone the sound. Any large speaker will prodcue a large sound but capturing the subtlety and detailed nuanances of the music while engaging the listener at lower volumes is not as easy. This is where the Muon's really excel. Turn them up and no problem they can handle everything as you would expect but keep them at a modest volume and they are exceptionally rewarding. At the price the Muon's are not going to be on every shortlist but for those considering a flagship speaker as part of a reference Hi-Fi I would urge an audition.

Introduction
There can be few projects in this world where the central aim is to create an ‘ultimate’. But this was precisely the goal when KEF combined their state-of the-art acoustic technology with the sensual, organic forms of visionary designer Ross Lovegrove. The result was Muon – the most extraordinary audio speaker ever conceived!
The Muon loudspeaker is fabricated from super-formed aluminium, which uses a similar moulding process to vacuum forming. The concept uses malleable sheets of heated aluminium to achieve otherwise impossible shapes. The eventual form of the loudspeaker was the result of a careful convergence between Ross Lovegrove’s design aesthetics and the physics of sound. The process by which they were conceived meant that, in effect, Ross Lovegrove was sculpting the sound by ‘skinning’ the technology with purposeful form; the final shape was created through an evolutionary process that ensured it could only be the form that it is.
As a truly contemporary art form appropriate for 21st century living, and limited to an edition of just 100 pairs, Muon is unequivocally at the apex of speaker design and technology. Quite simply, it is the best you can get.
