The all new NuForce Icon 1 desktop DAC and amp, is a real treat, its diminutive mini size will win favour amongst those who like a tidy desk.
Its inputs will allow multiple inputs, both digital and analogue i.e. USB, RCA and 3.5mm. Most importantly however, is the sound. Its form factor allows it to sit next to any PC/Laptop and brings serious sound quality from a company that more and more people are getting to know, thanks to their superb Reference mono blocks.
The Icon 1 is targeted squarely at the PC/Laptop user who wants better sound than the current crop offer, in a system that will allow future expansion as more sources are found.
Available in Silver, Red, Black and Blue, it comes complete in a box with all you need, speaker cables, usb cable, and power supply inc mains lead.
Optional 2m speaker cables are available at extra cost.

Our Comments: This brilliant amplifier is perfect desktop amplifier. With a USB input as well as standard analogue and 3.5mm inputs you can easily connect the Icon up to your PC or streaming device such as the Squeezebox Duet or Sonos. 12w of power easily drives a set of decent sized speakers to relatively loud volumes. This amplifier is by no means a gimmick, the sound quality is clear and accurate as you would expect from Nu-Force and build quality is high aswell. A real bargain at £175.
